Book Giveaway

Hey everyone!

My friend Samantha over at On Becoming a Mother is having a book giveaway! She's extended the deadline for a week so hurry over there and enter the contest!

Here is the link:

:)

He's learned to say I love you...and when he does it just makes my heart...float. I can't even describe it. It's so wonderful.

Whats even cuter is the way he says it:

I (draws out the I and points to his eye.)
Wuv (puts hands on his chest.)
Yewwwwwwww Ma! (points at me.)

Ahhh :)

Or sometimes he'll forget to add the "love" in and just say "Eye (pause) You!"

Such a cute, silly little boy.

I love consignment shops.

On my birthday I decided to do a little shopping for the baby. Still need a few things before she gets here so I thought I'd see if I could hunt down some of those things in consignment/thrift stores.

& I did!

I bought:
-A waterproof mattress cover (A little tip to make late night accidents easy: On the crib place a sheet, then a waterproof cover, and then another sheet. Much easier than changing sheets at 2 AM!) cost: 0.75

-A box of (unopened) Lansinoh breastmilk storage bags. cost: $2

-12 brandnew washable nursing pads (another tip-if you plan to breastfeed get a few of these!! Total lifesavers! I used them at night because they absorb more milk than the disposables and hey! Your saving money b/c they're washable & they are better for the enviroment!) cost: $1.50

-A gorgeous red and white polka dotted dress in size 2T. I'll post a pic later. No stains or anything. cost: 0.25 (the thrift store I bought this from really underprices their baby/toddler clothes.)

-Cute pair of shorts for Braxton in size 5. He's in a 4T now so it will be a little before he can wear them but I bought them from the store I mentioned above so they were very cheap. cost: 0.50

-Shirt for Braxton cost: 1.00

-Bassinet sheet (I hate paying $10 ea. for something that won't be used much. I bought one at BRU a couple weeks back that was on sale and just needed one extra one.) cost: 0.75

-2 brand new, still rolled up, straight from the package receiving blankets. cost: $2.50 for both

-3 gently used receiving blankets. I got overcharged. I asked how much they were and was told 50 cents for small ones, a dollar for larger ones. I chose 3 that looked good, weren't stained and were girly and went to pay for them. A different lady rang me up and charge me $1.50 for each one. 2 were large, 1 was small. Didn't say anything though.

-3 crib sheets, 2 pink and 1 yellow. Look brand new. Need lots of extra sheets but hate paying $11 each. cost: $2 for all 3

The thing I LOVE about the consignment shop nearby is I take alot of my gently used items there so when I buy something she gives me the option to 1) pay for it or 2) have it taken off my check. So alot of times I go in there and then she tells me I have sold stuff and can subtract the total from my check and I leave the store with lots of stuff and didn't have to pay for a thing! :)

At the moment the only things I really wanna get before the baby comes that I will have to get brand new is:
-nursing bras
-ear thermometer
-crib mobile

The rest of the stuff I needed I took care of yesterday! Whoo!

32 weeks!!

Baby This Week:
Your baby now weighs about 4.4 lbs (2000g) and measures about 12 inches (30cm) from crown to rump and about 19.4 inches (43cm) in total.
Now that your baby is running out of room in your womb, you can probably see your belly moving as your baby kicks.
Your baby may dream as he sleeps and when awake he may be alert, listening, feeling and even seeing dim shapes.
Though your baby is still inside the womb, he is learning all the time as billions of neurons are making connections.
Your baby is probably in his birth position by now.
Your baby's lungs may be sufficiently developed by now, though if he were born now, he would probably still need an incubator to stay warm.
Mommy This Week:
Your weight gain by now may be as much as 28 lbs and you are gaining weight faster than at any other time in your pregnancy. This is because your baby is growing rapidly right now.
Your blood volume has increased 40% to meet your baby's needs and your uterus has grown 500 times since before you were pregnant.
You may be feeling uncomfortable and feel the need to urinate frequently.
You may be experiencing vivid dreams.

My grandma went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic and brought back gifts! :)

She must still see me as a child, either that or everythings just really colorful/playful looking over there. (Bracelets & hair clips)

Necklace, bracelet, earrings

Little shoes for Addie. Hand made.

Gorgeous white dress. Isn't sized so not sure when she'll fit it.

A Christening dress my grandma got for Addies dedication. So cute (also handmade!). I just hope it fits!!
Braxton got a tshirt & some toys. Josh got a tshirt. & she also brought back alot of candy. (which tastes HORRIBLE by the way. and some of it isn't vaccum sealed so like, bugs can get in it. My grandma found a little white worm in a piece of her candy. YUCK!)
It was so crazy looking at all the prices on stuff. It's all in pesos so when I saw that the shoes cost 70 I was thinking dollars, not pesos. My grandma had a 100 peso bill (is that how I say that?) and said it was only worth $3 in US money. CRAZY!
She had a great time on her trip though so thats good. I hope I can do that someday. :)

YEA!!!

Braxton fell asleep on his own last night & slept ALL through the night in his OWN bed!!

I'm so excited & really hope this continues!

:)

32 Week Checkup

I had my 32 week appointment today.

It went well. It was of course the same boring stuff they always do.

I gave my nurse the report sheet from my 4D ultrasound so she could make a copy and when she came back with it she was so curious about how the scan was. She was asking if I got good pictures, if she was a cutie, what DS thought about it, etc etc. She was like, amazed or something. Then she tells me she has never seen a 4D scan before. Not even a picture! I couldn't believe that!!

Then my doctor comes in with a big smile on her face and asks how the 4D scan was, if it was really neat, if we got good pics. They were so interested in it. Big surprise to me. I guess they don't get alot of patients in there that get/need 4D u/s.

My doctor checked for Addies position, and when she was done I asked if she was head down yet and she said maybe but she can't really tell. Last time it was so easy for her to figure out Addies position so maybe she DID move. I have noticed I haven't felt a cervix kick in a few weeks! YAY!

Also, I lost a pound in the last 2 weeks. I was shocked. Seriously, I haven't been making the most "healthy" choices. Especially since my BFF made me a DELICIOUS pie b/c I was craving it and I nearly ate the whole thing myself. Then I ate a bunch of rocky road icecream this week...I was SURE I had gained at least 4 lbs. Who knows?
I'm just glad I'm not gaining like I did with Braxton. (+45 lbs)
My total gain (so far) this time: +2lbs

Whoo-hoo!

I'm going in every 2 weeks so my next appointment is August 11th. I can't wait until it gets to weekly visits. Then time REALLY flies! :)

Birth Control

DH just brought this up a few minutes ago and now I'm kinda worrying.

I totally forgot that I need to be thinking about birth control for after I have the baby. I don't exactly know what we're going to do.

I know I want to avoid anything with hormones. So that means: No pills, patches, shots.

I'm thinking about trying 'Natural Family Planning' and using condoms until my cycle is regular again.

Ughhh. I know my doctor will be no help with this decision.

Gift for Addie!

blanket & hat
"A" (I have no clue how you did that! Amazing!)

Tiffany! Thank you so much for the gifts! They are so precious! I can't wait to see Addie all bundled up in that blanket & wearing the hat! You're so sweet!! (& talented!) I can't believe you made those! Thank you, thank you, thank you! ;)

July 28th

Warning: This is graphic. You may not want to read this if you're a male or just have a weak stomach.

Tomorrow will be exactly one year since my 9 week miscarriage. It's probably going to be tough..but maybe a little easier since I'm pregnant and things are going well? I know if I weren't pregnant it would be horrible...

It gets easier as time goes by but my heart still aches for the baby I never got to meet. I believe that s/he is in Heaven and that one day I will get to meet him/her, but that doesn't make the pain go away right now. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.

The thought of red blood makes me cringe. I think I will still have a problem with it even when it's just AF. It's that color of blood that cruelly changed my world that morning.

I was just walking around the house cleaning when I felt 'wet' down there. I assumed it was discharge. They always say you get more of it when you're pregnant. I did a little more cleaning and then went to the bathroom. I saw bright red blood on the toilet paper and immediatly broke into tears. I sat there crying for a good 5 minutes before I text DH to tell him what happened. He immediatly left work to take me to the ER. The wait was torturous.

I was shaking the whole time I was in the waiting room, trying to think of possible reasons I could be bleeding that didn't mean miscarriage. Finally, my name was called. I walked back to a room with a nurse. She asked me lots of questions, had me get undressed and told me the doctor would be in soon.

At first the bleeding was very light so I had no problem sitting there on the table naked. I was just spotting so I didn't think too much of it. But as I sat there waiting for the doctor the bleeding picked up. I knew that wasn't good. The doctor came in and looked at my cervix. Said it was closed so it *may* not be a miscarriage. A slight glimmer of hope.

He got the nurse to draw blood so we could see where my hcg was at. Soon, they came in with the results. "How far along are you again?" the doctor asked. "9 weeks" I replied. "Well. Your hcg # is that of someone who is 7 weeks. Are you sure your dates are correct?" "Yes" I said. There went that hope, right out the window.

They wanted to an ultrasound on me, but didn't have an opening for another 3 days. So they sent me home and told me to come back on Monday. What a looong weekend. I was put on bedrest for those 3 days in hopes that the bleeding would slow down, or better yet, stop completely. Even though I was on bedrest the bleeding picked up. On day #2 I was having heavy bleeding and passing large clots. I knew what was going on yet somehow I still had hope. On that day I had to see what no mother should ever see. I saw my baby. Tiny, still in the sack. I didn't know what to do with it. I eventually decided to just flush it/throw it away.

Around here they won't test for cause of miscarriage unless you have had several. So the Hospital didn't need it. I think that was the hardest thing I've ever been through. All my hope was shattered that day. I was not looking forward to Monday but it rolled around and there I was getting an ultrasound.

I knew something was wrong when she wouldn't point the screen in my direction. She didn't speak. I asked her what she saw and she told me she isn't allowed to say. That right there gave it away. After about 10 minutes of being violated with her wand (or like Tiff says-"dildo cam" ) I was sent into the waiting room to wait for the doctor.

He called my name and we went into his office. He told me my uterus was empty. I already knew that but just hearing it really hit me. I burst out in uncontrollable tears as he tried to comfort us and find a box of tissues. I really liked that doctor though. He was so nice. He really did try to make us feel better. He was having a hard time finding a box of tissues that wasn't empty so he said (holding up his Rx pad) "Here, would you like this?" It made me laugh. I still laugh looking back on that. Most doctors aren't very compassionate and even fewer would joke about giving you his blank prescription pad.

We left his office and I cried all the way out to the car, all the way home and when I got home I just collapsed on the bed and cried for hours. I wanted my baby back and I didn't understand how this could happen to me. It was always one of those things that "happen to someone else, but not me."

I know everything happens for a reason. I know the reason this happened. It led me to God. Before that baby, I was "atheist." But when I feared losing my baby Josh talked me into praying. I prayed and prayed and prayed that I could keep the baby, that nothing was wrong. That weekend waiting for the ultrasound I even got saved. Yes, it may not have been for the "right" reasons. I feel I was being selfish. The Sunday before my ultrasound I went to church, didn't really enjoy it though. I sat there looking down the whole time trying not to cry. The church came over and prayed for me and for the baby.
I didn't really want to be there. I was still a little weary of this 'Christian' thing that Josh had recently gotten into. I followed only because I thought if I went to church I could keep my baby. But you know what? After I lost my baby, I continued to go. I'm not sure why. It's like I was drawn back there. I kept going ever since then. I've only missed a handful of Sundays in the year that it's been. It's like I'm addicted. :)

I may have lost my baby but I found Jesus.

*Sorry for the graphic details. It helps to write about it and to tell my story. It's like some sort of release for me. It makes me feel a little bit better. I miss my little one so much.*

Nesting Time!

Okay so for a couple of months now we have been without a washer. Okay, several months. It just stopped working one day and we thought it had no chance of being fixed. My grandma has a laundromat though, so we had been going there every week and doing our laundry for free and said we'd get a new washer when we had the money. Procrastination.

Well, as you can imagine, it would not be easy to have a baby and no washer. They go through 3-4 outfits a day (at least Braxton did with all the spitting up and diaper leaks) as well as burp cloths, blankets, crib sheets, etc. Not only would a weeks worth of baby cloths wreak with vomit and you know what else but most likely they would all be stained before we went to wash them.

Weeeell, about a month ago FIL found out that we didn't have a working washer so he came by and picked up our broken washer and took it to get repaired. Last night he picked it up and brought it back to us and.....IT WORKS!!! Yayyyyy!!

I have been itching to wash all of Addies clothes, blankets, and crib bedding! NOW I CAN!!

Hello nesting, here I come!!!

Okay. That's it.

No more Sesame Street. Yes, it may be 'educational' and I often see Braxton counting along with everyone and learning new things but....I HATE the cookie monster. As of today.

Apparently Braxton has picked up on his eating habits. Well I shouldn't say "habits", he's not eating cookies all the time. Manners is probably a more appropriate word.

This morning I was eating Cheerios dry (I hate milk) and Braxton said he wanted some, so I got him some. He grabs a big handful, walks a few steps away, gets the cereal in his cupped hands and shoves it towards his mouth making weird sounds and letting the majority of the cereal spill all over the floor. Yeah, unfortunatly I didn't notice the huge mess he had made until about the 3rd or 4th handful of cereal which meant=Cheerios ALL.OVER.THE.FLOOR.

Fun, Fun. Then when I ask him what he is doing and why he's making such a big mess eating he just looks at me and says "Mess!" and points to the floor, then grabs the broom and tries to sweep it up for me.

Siiigh. They need to teach those monsters on Sesame Street some manners.

I totally forgot to tell everyone that I don't have my phone!!

My grandma went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic and needed a phone that she knew would get good service and be able to use as much as she needs. She has a prepaid trac phone so they really are not very reliable. I don't think they have good coverage overseas and it would probably would be hard to find a minutes card for it. So I let her borrow my cell phone. I checked with T-mobile and they have coverage over there and its only 35 cents a text, $1.49 a minute over there. Which is alot since I usually have unlimited texting & 600 whenever minutes but its different overseas. Plus, she is paying for every call/text she makes.

So please, do not call or text my cell as it will cost a bunch & I will have to pay for all calls/texts received. (Which sucks since I always seem to get calls from people looking for walmart...3-4 times a day.)

I have my grandmas prepaid phone but like I said, it is a trac phone so no unlimited texts. :(
I don't want to waste all her minutes so I'm trying to use the phone for emergencys only.

I'm so sorry for forgetting to tell everyone. (can I blame the preggo brain?) ;)

I'll be getting my phone back around July 28th so I will text everyone and let them know they are good to text/call me now.

:)

31 weeks

Baby This Week:
Your baby's total length is 18.9 inches (42cm) and she is perfectly formed! She measures about 11.6 inches (29cm) from crown to rump. All she has to do is fill out more. Your baby weighs almost 4 pounds (1800g). If she were to be born now, she would still need to be incubated as she has insufficient fat stores to keep it warm.
Your baby can distinguish between light and dark.
Your baby can hear the outside world quite well now, and can also hear the sounds of your heartbeat, your digestion and the blood rushing in the umbilical cord. The pitch of women's voices are in the range babies are most able to hear over all the internal background noise. Your baby is already familiar with your voice and will be able to recognize it after birth.
Mommy This Week:
Your uterus now extends to about 5 inches (12cm) above your belly button. You probably continue to feel tired and may sometimes feel dizzy. You feel your baby's kicking regularly. Your baby is probably in the head down position by now and is long enough that his legs can reach your ribs. The pressure of your baby's legs can make your ribcage sore. Taking care to sit or stand straight may alleviate this discomfort somewhat. You may feel short of breath, have heartburn, round ligament pain, a stuffy nose and other pregnancy symptoms. Your pelvic joints may have expanded for the birth and this may cause some discomfort. You may feel a desire to "nest" which may make you want to bake, clean and get things in order around your home.

31 week survey

How far along? 31 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure about this weeks gain but last week I was only up to 3 lbs total
Any new maternity clothes? Nope
Any new stretch marks? Yep
Sleep: I dread it. I can't roll over in bed without being in excruciating pain.
Best moment this week: Baby Hiccups!!
Food cravings: Icecream
Gender: GIRL :)
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In
What I am looking forward to: having her
Weekly Wisdom: nothin'
Milestones: I felt addies first hiccups

And...it starts.

I've been kicked out of my toddlers room. My 2 year old kicked me out of his room.

He asked me to put a movie on. So I went in there, sat on his bed, grabbed up Clifford and stuck it in the VCR.

The movie comes on and I still sit there...

Braxton looks at me and says, "OUT!" and points to the door!

I look at him and giggle, and he says "OUT!!!!!"

Goodness...and this is only the beginning.

Hiccups!!

I felt babys first hiccups today! I've been waiting and waiting for it to happen and was starting to worry I wouldn't feel them at all! (Not that it's something to actually worry about. I just really enjoy them. They're cute.)

She's had them twice today. The first time was this morning for about 30 seconds. The second time was this evening for a couple of minutes. This morning I thought maybe she turned head down because I felt the hiccups down low but the second time I felt them at belly button "height" but to the right. So I guess not. :(

I am looking forward to lots of baby hiccups though! It's the coolest thing! She makes my belly jump when she hiccups! :D

the nursery

The acessories for our crib bedding set have finally come out! YAY!!

I'm planning on getting:
-wallpaper border (since we can't paint!)
-mobile for crib
-3 window valances
-wall stickers
-extra sheets

I think there are more items that haven't been released yet because in the photo it shows a lamp and a rug also but I couldn't find those. So hopefully they will come out soon. I probably won't get the lamp...I just want the rug. ;)

Also, still need to get curtains for the room. I'll probably get brown ones since the majority of the valances are pink.

We're almost done with the nursery. Just needs a few finishing touches. After my ultrasound Friday we went to BRU and I got a bassinet sheet (they were on sale for $4 each!! I should have got more...) and I also got a brown changing pad cover, it's sooo soft and really brings the room together.

I guess now all I have to do before I am completely ready for her to be here is:
-wash all the clothes, bedding, blankets, etc.
-make several "freezer meals" for those nights I just can't find the energy to cook (once she's here.)
-pack my hospital bag (which I will be doing next month. I am starting to make a list and gather stuff up so I can find it "just in case" I do go into labor early-doubt I will though.)

I can't believe I've got about 8 weeks left. 2 months. I can't wait until I get my c-section date so I can start counting down for real. :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBYwuyRFz8s

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmkKMcdAI5I&feature=channel

Okay. I couldn't get them to upload here so I used youtube. Check out the videos! These 2 are just some things I thought were "cute." I might decide to add more vids later! :)

In one video its just cute what she does with her hand. Looks like she is scratching her chin or something. The other, it looks like she flips me off, then licks her fingers. Crazy!

4D ultrasound!!

My 4D ultrasound went pretty good. Addie was being stubborn though by keeping her arm or hand in front of her face at all times. We did get a few good shots though. The pics are above. I really don't feel like uploading 15 pictures or more so I just made a scrapblog! Click on it if you want to see it bigger.

Here is what we found out/saw:
-She weighs 3 lbs 7 oz (which the tech said is PERFECT for 30 weeks. She's right on target!) She measured 30w2d & was 30w1d the day of the ultrasound. Pretty good! :D
-She has a little bit of hair! :)
-At first the tech thought I was low on amniotic fluid but after measuring said it was okay (but boy did that scare me at first!!)
-Addie is no longer breech. (wait-don't start getting excited yet...) She's transverse. (laying side to side) and her feet are down by bladder/cervix. Still getting lots of wonderful cervix kicks.
-Her heartrate was 151.
-She likes her arm and her hand. Alot.
-We saw her suck on her fingers, lick her fingers, lick her arm. (When my grandma saw the video of her doing that she scolded me for not feeding her enough and said "She wants a bottle." HAH! Older people are funny.) :)

Okay so we have had 3 ultrasounds where we can REALLY see her. 16 wks, 22 wks, 30 wks.
At ALL 3 of these ultrasounds she has:
-sucked her fingers/thumb
-had her legs crossed
-put her feet behind her head

It's kinda crazy, it's almost like she's already got a personality/preferences.

I think thats all...I have a couple videos I am going to *try* to upload. Not sure if I can do it.

My shower buddy and I opened gifts today!!
She got me:
-Set of picture frames
-2 sheet savers (& omg they are sooo soft!)
-a baby food dispensing spoon
Not sure if you read this Kelly but THANK YOU! :D

ULTRASOUND!

My 4D ultrasound.......

is TOMORROW!!!!

I cannot wait to see what she looks like, see if she has any hair and find out how much she weighs! I think I'm far enough along that we will know by her weight if she will be huge like Braxton or not! ;)

Appointments tomorrow at 11 AM. Will probably be a few hours before I'm home to update.

(I'm hoping to talk DH into a little BRU shopping...)

:)

30 weeks!!!

Baby This Week:
Your baby now weighs about 3.5 lbs (1600g) and measures about 18 inches (40cm) in total and about 11.2 inches (28cm) from crown to rump.
Your baby's increasing size means that she has less room to move around in your uterus.
Your baby could already be moving into the head-down position.
Your baby's lungs are maturing and their lining, which prevents air sacs from collapsing, is growing. This lung development means that your baby would have a much greater chance of survival if he were born prematurely.
About 16 fluid ounces of blood are flowing through the wall of your uterus to the site of the placenta, though your blood never mixes with your baby's blood. It is separated by the placental barrier which is a very thin wall. Water, nutrients and waste are exchanged across this barrier at a rate of 0.3 fluid ounces per second.
Your baby swallows amniotic fluid and urinates.
Your baby's ears are sufficiently developed to hear and recognize your voice, the voices of other family members as well as familiar musical tunes.
Mommy This Week:
Most women have gained about 19 pounds by this point in pregnancy. The weight gain is made up of the baby, the placenta and the amniotic fluid as well as enlarged breasts, an increase in blood volume, water storage, fat and protein.
You feel your baby moving about regularly and this may cause you to feel bonded with him. You don't need to worry though if you do not already feel bonded with your baby. For some women, the baby still seems abstract when it is inside. You may bond rapidly or gradually after the birth.
Fatigue will probably continue and you may feel breathless after physical activity.
Colostrum may be leaking from your breasts. However, this does not occur for all women and in no way indicates that there will be a problem breastfeeding if colostrum is not present before birth.
You may have trouble sleeping for various reasons: it may be difficult to find a comfortable position, you may have to urinate frequently during the night, baby's activity can prevent you from sleeping and you may be feeling anxious.
Your back probably aches since the muscles and ligaments that support it have begun to relax and loosen in preparation for labor.
You may have also developed some varicose veins.

30 week survey!

How far along? Ahhh 30 weeks! I can't believe I'm in the 30s now!!!
Total weight gain/loss: Gained a pound this week, total= +3 lbs
Any new maternity clothes? Before my baby shower I went shopping for something to wear and got a cute pink (very stretchy!) shirt and a little black over-thingy and a brown & white striped tank.
Any new stretch marks? I keep finding more... :(
Sleep: Getting seriously uncomfortable
Best moment this week: My baby shower! It was incredible!
Food cravings: Payday candy bars...something about the salty and sweet really hits the spot :)
Gender: GIRL :)
Labor Signs: Nope
Belly Button in or out? In but like I keep saying, its getting flatter and starting to look funny.
What I am looking forward to: 4D ultrasound TOMORROW!! Ahh!
Weekly Wisdom: Hmm, nothin'
Milestones: I'm in the 30s! 8-9 more weeks until I have this baby!!

Around 10 pm last night I started getting really uncomfortable pain that pretty much wrapped all around my upper body. My chest hurt, my back hurt, my sides hurt. I tried to just lay down and go to sleep to see if I could just sleep through the pain. So I went to bed and layed on my side and oh. my. goodness! When I layed on my side it hurt SO bad, it felt like my lungs were being crushed and I couldn't breathe. The pain got so unbearable that I just cried and cried while trying to find a comfortable position. Laying on my back caused the back pain to increase and the only relief I could fine was to lay halfway off the bed with my back arched. Obviously couldn't sleep like that. Also, I think Addies position may have been a part of it, she had never been so high up before! It was like she was in my diaphragm!
After 4 hours of this pain (at 2 am!) I begged DH to take me to the Hospital. I honestly felt like I was dying. Josh called ahead and told them he was bringing his pregnant wife in because of back pain so they were pretty much ready for me when we got there. Signed a few papers and a nurse came down with a wheel chair and whisked me away to L&D. I guess they all thought I was in labor because they kept asking me how far apart my contractions are, I kept telling them I don't even know if they are contractions I just hurt constantly!

So we go into a room and I get into a "lovely" hospital gown, pee in a cup and then lay down so I could be hooked up to the heartbeat/contraction monitors. The nurse then brought me some water & juice and asked me lots of questions about the pain & about the bronchitis I'm being treated for. She said they were going to monitor me/test my urine and then she would be back.

So we waited...she came back and said my urine looked fine except for I am a little bit dehydrated and then they watched the monitors for a bit longer, (more like until 4 am.) I wasn't having any contractions and baby sounded good so they called my doctor.) My doctor wasn't sure what was causing the pain so she just told the nurse to give me 2 tylenol 3s (tylenol + codine) and send me home. So thats what they did.

The nurse said the pain could have been caused by:
-pinched nerve
-pulled muscle
-ribs seperating (like your pelvic bone seperates in the 3rd tri)

I really wish I could have just stayed in the ER and not L&D. At least the doctors there would check for things that aren't pregnancy related. Oh well.

The Tylenol & Codine was GREAT!!! The pain left completely within 20-30 minutes and I felt wonderful! So I went home and went to bed and this morning when I woke up-still no pain. It's now 10:30 and the pain hasn't returned! YAY!

(I was wondering if it could have been an allergic reaction to the azithromycin I'm taking. The pain started shortly after I took my dose for today but I didn't have a reaction yesterday so I'm not sure.)

Anyways, the hospital I was at is the one I am delivering at. I was so impressed with the nurses. There were 2 that I met and they were just wonderful! They were sweet and nice and just lovely! I hope the rest of the nurses are the same way!!

As for now though everything is okay with me and the baby. :) I just hope that pain stays away!!

Update

Doctor says the cramping is most likely Braxton Hicks...I don't really agree but...oh well.
She said its not really 'normal' to have pain when the baby moves but some women do experience it. Same excuse for csection scar pain.
As for the coughing up blood, she thinks I may be getting bronchitis so she prescribed me some antibiotics.

Sorry for such a short update but I'm tired!!

I've coughed up blood twice today.

Not sure why but I have a dr appointment today for the cramping and pain I had yesterday so I will ask.

My appointment's in 3 hours. Hopefully everything's okay.

I'll update after my appointment.

Lately when the baby moves it causes me a lot of pain. Especially near the c-section scar. I have no idea why it's happening and never experienced it with Braxton. I asked about it on my Sept board on FF and everyone is suggesting that I call my OB. So I called & asked to speak with the nurse but she was with a patient so she's going to call me back.

I'll update when she calls.

UPDATE:
She seems to think it is either dehydration or early labor/contractions. She wants me to come in tomorrow to get checked out so I should have more info on what is going on tomorrow. She didn't really seem too concerned about the painful movements but when I told her I had been cramping alot lately and that they felt like menstrual cramps she was concerned.

Almost done!

We've almost got everything we need for Adelyn & her room is *almost* ready. Still needs a good cleaning! Everytime I get it clean Braxton scatters toys everywhere or leaves his empty cups in there, etc! I guess that is one thing I will have to get used to though-having a toddler and a baby! ;)

These are just a few things I plan on getting:

Changing pad cover:

I might get this pink one or I may go to BRU and pick up a brown one.

Changing Table Organizer:

I originally found this on Target.com for around $15 then accidentally found it on Walmart.com for $12. I'm not sure if they are the same brand but they look the same. If I get this I will not be getting a diaper stacker.

Head and Body Support:
http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=10992654

With Braxton we always had a hard time finding a good head support. No matter what his head always flopped over sideways but I really think this one will be a good one! Even DH agrees with me on this (we don't agree on anything!) I even suggested buying one that walmart had in the stores instead but he said nope, he liked this one better! :)

Sling:

-My mom is buying this for me-

I still need to get:
-curtains
-medicine (gas relief drops & infant tylenol)
-ear thermometer
-extra crib sheets
-bassinet sheets
-walker

Most of the items I still have to get are only available online or not sold in stores near me so I will have to use site to store. Hopefully I can order them all soon so I get them in time! :)

It is SO much prettier in person! I saw it online and thought it was "okay", just "liked" it when I saw it in the store but now that it's in her crib I must say-I LOVE IT! I'm going to hang the blanket on the wall as decoration since you're not supposed to use them with infants.
I cannot wait to have the nursery complete! I'm so close!!

Nope-still not finished.

View of her closet

An outfit I got at the shower. It was pretty much the only one I liked. lol

the back of her closet-packnplay, 2 boppy pillows and 5 diaper bags. (I actually have 2 more diaper bags laying around the house somewhere that I use with Braxton!)

Blankets

My absolute favorite blanket!! I actually bought one of these the day before the shower (well my grandma bought it for me while we were out shopping.) and then received another at the shower. Can't return either of them b/c I opened mine immediatly & the one I got at the shower had all the tags and stuff ripped off, but its okay! It's cute enough I can have two! :D

Newest pic of the diaper stash, hehe. 20 packs.
I think we're good on those for awhile. Now I'm gonna start stocking up on huge packs/boxes of wipes and baby wash/lotion.
I've only got 2 boxes of wipes so far and 4 bottles of wash/lotion. Big Lots had a bunch of Huggies wash/lotion for $2 each so I got 3 bottles of that.
I'm almost ready for her to be here!! Just gotta get a few more things! :)

I totally forgot I have TWO folders on my computer filled with baby shower pics so here are a few from the other folder. I didn't feel like editing my last post to add them.

Somone brought ADULT diapers to the raffle as a joke. So the church ladies were really "havin fun" with them. This is my pastor. Ha!

Monta :)

My mom & I. My head looks huge compared to her tiny head!
A few of the kids.
Clean up time!

Baby Shower!

I had a great time at my baby shower! I was completely blessed by it!
I came in and saw all the pretty decorations and was blown away! I seriously did not expect my Aunts to do something so...well, pretty. They hadn't really involved me in much of it or asked me what I wanted so I thought they just didn't care or something. But oh man I was wrong! They did a WONDERFUL job decorating and getting everything prepared!

Part of the decorations. I really liked this part, very cute!

The decorations. We had cupcakes instead of cake. The little purse looking things are favors (filled with pink & white jelly beans!) The flower arrangements are made from PAPER!

This is the sock game. A variety of baby socks are thrown in between 2 people & they have to match & fold as many as they can. There are only 9 pairs of socks so whoever folds & correctly matches the most is the winner and the winner takes on someone else until there is a final winner.

This is my cousin Taylor and my grandma...YES I said grandma, playing the sock game. (My family is quite competive so thats why I love playing this game!) Hah!

My mom & Braxton

My friend Monica & I. (We're both pregnant so I had to have a belly shot! Lol!) I'm on the left of course and OMG am I huge compared to her!! She is due just 2 weeks after me!

Opening gifts

Highchair & 9 packages of diapers!

All the stuff!

The diaper raffle turned out pretty good! We had 9 people enter the raffle which means 9 packages of diapers! :D I already had 12 packs saved up so we now have 20 packages!!!

That night I went through everything and returned anything that: *I had duplicates of, *I didn't like (mostly clothing for that one) or *didn't need. I also returned the highchair :( It was so pretty but about a week before the shower I decided it would take up too much space & that I would get on of those chairs that you strap onto a regular seat that has a tray and everything, but didn't think to take it off my registry & someone bought it for me!!

So with all the returns I got about $150 on a walmart card and was able to get:
-my crib bedding!! :D
-diaper bag that I LOVE (even though I have about 5 diaper bags already! lol)
-booster seat with tray
-some baby proofing stuff for Braxton (hes learned how to unlock & open the front door)
-comfortor & pillow cases to go on our bed that will match Addies bedding

I think thats it. :)
I've got everything put away and ready for her to get here!

This morning Braxton wanted some chocolate milk so I got the (white) milk and poured him a glass then added a bit of chocolate syrup and stirred. I gave it to him and he took a drink and set the cup down and didn't drink anymore.

Well fast forward to about 4:30. Boo (his cat) came in for a little bit and Braxton insisted that Boo was thirsty and needed milk. So I grab a bowl and pour some milk in. Then Braxton wants some so I grab a cup and pour. Only...when I poured it, it sound funny. Like really thick.

So I check the expiration date. It expires tomorrow. (Most milk we get is still good for a few days after the expiration date.) So I figure its still good. But just in case I smelled it. Smelled kinda funny to me. My friend Angela was here so I had her smell it and she nearly gagged.

I felt so horrible! I gave my baby spoiled milk to drink this morning!! :(

I'm awful!!

New Dresser!

Okay so for awhile now I've been looking for a new dresser.

Since Addie is staying in our room she is using OUR dresser. So I've been looking for one so that I could stick it in a closet and use it (we have an extra closet in the hallway just barely big enough for a dresser to fit.

Well today my FIL came by and said he saw a dresser at a yard sale and if I wanted it. (I had saw the same one a couple hours before and REALLY wanted it.) So I told him yes. So he drove down there and bought it. It's also got another piece that kinda sits behind the dresser & has a couple tall shelves.

It's a long dresser and the closet only fits a short one so what we're going to do is:
Move Braxtons small, tall dresser to the closet, give him our long one and put the new long one in our room. I probably won't use the shelf for addie quite yet-possibly in Braxtons room though. B/C if I use the shelf thingy the dresser won't have a top for me to use as the changing area.

The new dresser set is white though and the crib is a natural finish. I wish I could get the dresser to be the same way but FIL said it would be too much work but he did offer to buy us brown paint so we could paint the dresser.

I'm excited though! I'll post before & after pics once I get it painted!

29 Weeks!

Baby This Week:
Your baby now weighs about 3 lbs (1400g), measures about 10.8 (27cm) inches from crown to rump and measures about 17 inches (38cm) from head to toe.
Your baby is probably aware of your Braxton Hicks contractions, which you experience regularly, even when you do not notice them.
By this time, your baby is very active and you feel its movements frequently.
Your baby is still practicing breathing movements which have now become rhythmic.
Sometimes your baby gets the hiccups when she accidentally swallows amniotic fluid the wrong way.
She is getting fatter and plumper. On an ultrasound, you can see your baby's activities quite easily.
Your baby has periods of rest and periods of activity now. Your baby is probably most active when you are trying to rest.
Mommy This Week:
Your uterus has now risen to about 4 inches above your bellybutton. Backache probably continues and you are probably feeling increasingly fatigued. This may be exacerbated since you may also have trouble sleeping. Whenever possible, try to put your feet up. Extra pillows will probably help you to find a comfortable sleeping position.
You may be constipated; your nose may be stuffed; and you may have the occasional nosebleed. You may also have trouble breathing as your enlarged uterus crowds your lungs. You may at times feel faint and dizzy. You probably feel huge, but you'll get bigger still!
Some women take great pleasure in their changing form while others feel it is a nuisance. If you are among the latter, you can take comfort in knowing that it is temporary, that your partner and others probably find you especially beautiful, that you are as close as you can be to your baby and that your body is providing him with all he needs.

OMG.

I just ate half a payday candy bar...and it was amazing!!!

The End. :)

29 week survey!

How far along? 29 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: I gained 4 lbs in 3 weeks! So I am now +2 total!
Any new maternity clothes? Nope
Any new stretch marks? Yes. I'm noticing new ones all the time!
Sleep: Hatin' it. So uncomfortable..
Best moment this week: Getting closer to having the nursery finished...other than that nothing at all! LOL Everything just kinda sucks at this stage. ;)
Movement: Ouch. Yes-painful. Tons, and tons of cervix kicks, bladder kicks. Now when she kicks me in one of those places I come sooo close to peeing myself...and sometimes the pain is just unbearable. :(
Food cravings: Mexican, which sucks b/c it gives me heartburn.
Gender: GIRL!
Labor Signs: Just lots, lots and lots of Braxton Hicks contractions. I never noticed them with Braxton but now I get them about every day.
Belly Button in or out? In, but getting flatter
What I miss: Not being pregnant! LOL
What I am looking forward to: 1.) Baby shower this Saturday, 2.) 4D ultrasound next Friday, 3.) having this baby in 9 weeks!!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Nothin'
Milestones: Getting to the "OMG just get this baby OUT of me" stage of pregnancy. Yes. I'm "done" being pregnant for now. I'm uncomfortable. Every part of my body hurts. I just want these next 2 months to FLY by so I can have my baby girl here!

So..I do almost have everything I need. My baby shower is this Saturday so we'll see what I get! :)

I'm pretty sure I've forgotten some items that I have or need or whatever but oh well, I blame the pregnancy. :)

I had my (almost) 29 week appointment today. Regular stuff they always do..I find these appointments quite boring/pointless.

I of course was weighed. (I finally gained weight! I am now +2!)
Then I peed in a cup.
Then the nurse came in and took my blood pressure & listened to the babys heartbeat (it was 156 bpm-it seems to stay in that range.)
Then I waited for the doctor to come in.
After about 10 minutes she came in and measured my uterus (addie has no more room to grow! She's as high as she can get-she can only go outwards now! lol)
I asked my dr to check her position-still breech and I was told she could stay that was for up to 5 more weeks. (Great!) :(
I had to sign a consent sheet giving Dr. Kimmel permission to do a repeat c-section (like I have a choice!!) so I asked if we were scheduling today...but nope!! The nurse was really nice though! She told me the day I will most likely have her on (according to the dr + hospital surgery days) and told me September 17th. I was really not wanting the 17th b/c there are so many people in my family with that birthday so I told the nurse & she made a note of it on my chart somewhere and told me she would try to get me in sooner than that IF she could. If she can't then my c-section date is the 17th. :(

Thats pretty much all that happened! I'm kinda bummed though. 5 weeks ago my doctor told me I would start seeing her every two weeks but last time it was 3 weeks and today she told me I only have to come in every 3 weeks 1 more time then its 2 weeks. Oh well!

So my next appointment is July 28th (2 days before my birthday!)

I've been wanting to try to make one for quite some time now. So I did. It's not perfect but it's cute! This is for my friends baby shower on the 25th. I was so excited to make it I just did now rather than later! The bows are actually hair bows, I was going to use satin bows but thought the real hair bows would be more practical. The top tier has an infant headband around it.

There are also other gifts inside the cake, instead of using all diapers I have a few rolled up onesies, washcloths, socks, etc. Also, there is a bottle being used as the vase for the flower. (which by the way is PINK not reddish like the pic makes it look.)

I just realized a few of the diapers need to be straightened up so I need to fix that. ;)

But I'm happy with the way it turned out! I am tempted to make another for decoration at my baby shower using pinks & browns! :)

Today...as I was making a diaper cake for a friends baby shower I walked back to my bedroom to grab some ribbon. I can see in the bathroom from my room so I glanced in there since I heard Braxton was in there (he likes to make messes with my make up!) and I saw........

Him peeing in the potty! Yay!

He sure was making a mess but he was standing there in front of the toilet trying to reach his little pee-pee up to the toilet to pee. He got a little in there but most of it went elsewhere.

But thats still a great start!!!

He knew he needed to go pee so he went to the potty!

Wahoo!! I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses. Hopefully he will keep at it! He has gotten to where he HATES diapers so FX this keeps up! :D

4th of July!

Swimming!!

Braxton & I swimming! :)

Slip & Slide!

Time for fireworks!!

Yay!!

His first reaction to (loud) fireworks...he pretty much ONLY liked the smoke balls because they were "pretty."

He was very cautious about the sparklers. He liked them until they got too hot.

I hate it.

Yesterday it was 104 outside!!

Today...it's 76 and RAINING!

:(

Braxton was on my lap, leaning against my stomach when all of a sudden Addie kicked him in the back! He whirled around and grabbed his back and said "Oww!" I told him that baby sissy just kicked him and he points to my stomach and says "Baby! No kick!"

LOL

Yesterday I spent some time with my Aunts talking about the baby shower. This whole time I had been freaking out thinking nothing was getting done b/c they hadn't said anything about it to me but ohh I was wrong!
I got to their house and my aunt Charity was making paper flowers (see pic above.) They are going to use them on the tables. They got tablecloths, It's a Girl Confetti, Cupcake holders that say "its a girl" (we're having a cupcake tower thingy instead of a cake.) They have these adorable pink & brown party favors with pink & white jelly beans inside. They already have 2 prizes for games bought plus the raffle prize. I was just blown away! I was not expecting any of this!
My shower is 9 days away!!! I can't WAIT! :D

Can you see where Addie is? LOL She totally made my belly lopsided last night-my belly button is waaay over to the right. This only happened when I tensed my stomach up. It was really neat.
