MIL RANT

Okay. I'm super pissed. I don't know if its my crazy hormones or if I actually have a reason to be mad.

Several times we have told my MIL what we are naming this little girl. She has called/texted numerous times to ask us b/c she forgot and well, that alone annoys me. I think she should be able to remember her grand-daughters name. She remembers the middle name but not the first name.

Last time we were over at her house she called her GRACIE. I was like...what are you talking about?! She said "Oh isnt that what you are naming her?" I told her "No. We are naming her Adelyn, but will call her Addie for short." When we got home I was very irritated since we had told her about ten times what we were going to name her. I told Josh she had better not call her Grace again and if she is born and calls her Grace/Gracie I will come unglued.

Well this morning I wake up and check my cell phone. I have a text from her that reads:
"I need to know what day to take off in Sept. for THE GRACES birth. I need to put in now so I make sure I get off."

(I captilized the graces for emphasis but not Adelyn)

I replied "I don't know what day I am having ADELYN. My doctor won't tell me until September."

Aghhh!! I read that and said outloud..to nobody "Did she SERIOUSLY just call my daughter THE GRACES?!?!?!?! WTH?

OMG. You're freak out is totally legitimate. I'm considering the name Braden for a boy, and my mom already said she'll refuse to call him that and will call him BRADY, which I don't like. I want to call him BRADEN if it's a boy! I have a nephew named after his father, and their names are both Jason Kent, the dad goes by Jason, and when my nephew was first born, we were all calling him Baby Jason, until my mom refused and started calling him Kent, and he's 14 now, and that's what he still goes by! Which is fine, it's totally his name, but still, just proves how stubborn my mom is and how she gets her way!
